Our Volunteering Fair is on Monday 15th October!

25/09/2018

    Monday 15th October from 10am-4pm

Hallam Hall, Owen Building, Sheffield Hallam University City Campus

    Howard Street, Sheffield, S1 2LX

Our Volunteering Fair is the place to be to find out more about volunteering, which volunteer opportunities may be right for you and to meet like-minded people passionate about giving back to the community.

As well as being a great way to make a difference within the community, volunteering can be a way for you to share skills and learn new things, gain relevant experience for work or study, or pursue hobbies and interests.

There will be over 40 charities and community organisations looking for volunteers like you, to support them in the invaluable work they do. You could be volunteering in a range of roles; from working with youth groups to helping at lunch clubs, in arts and heritage to health and social care. There will be many opportunities which the charities will be able to talk directly with you about, and there’s something for everyone!

Information on the charities attending the Fair and more information will be available at

Sheffield Volunteer Centre Advisors will be on-hand to talk to you about volunteering, and the team from Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union will be available to chat about projects for students to get involved in. The Volunteering Fair will be held at Hallam Hall in the Owen Building at Sheffield Hallam University’s City Campus. Though the Volunteering Fair will be at a University building, this event is open to all!

Hallam Hall can be accessed through the Hallam Square entrance to the Owen Building, on Howard Street.

The Volunteering Fair is free for visitors to attend, and Hallam Hall and the Owen Building are fully accessible. Please see our map below.

There are many ways volunteering can help contribute to good mental health and wellbeing no matter which stage people are at in life. This could be through reducing isolation and stress, providing a sense of achievement and pride, increasing mental and physical activity, or just being a way to meet people and have fun. The Volunteering Fair is a great way to find out how to get involved, and how to make a difference.

The Volunteering Fair is open to everyone, and volunteering is for everyone too!
